Track days

Track days-So many people think of themselves as good, perhaps even great drivers. Yet so many have never put that to the test, they are content to drive along public roads with the self belief that, if given half a chance they'd be one of the greatest racing drivers in the world.

Unfortunately statistics mean that it seems unlikely to be true, in fact most people who have spent their time and effort modifying and tuning their cars have never really have the opportunity to see what their cars can actually do - and that's where track days come in.

track days are a way for people to bring their cars to a private piece of land and drive them in a manner that simply isn't applicable to the public roads - a place where speeding fines are most certainly not handed out! These track days can take place on old air strips, drag racing venues or even official racing circuits. The latter also often provides the opportunity to get some training from a professional driver about how best to navigate the circuit and get tips on driving technique. All that money spent tuning the engine in the car might only get you a fraction of the speed that some comprehensive tuition from an experienced racing driver could provide.

To get your car ready for a track day you may want to start customising your car so that it has a better chance to keep up with your ambitions. Performance brakes will not only provide extra retardation power, but importantly they will also cope with the massive heat than will be generated while repeatedly braking from high speed. Other performance car parts are also available, be it brake pads or engine tuning, many of these items will help you car cope with what you are asking from it.
